It was the 4th of January. Early in the morning, the clouds began to gather in the sky. Soon it was covered with thicker and darker clouds. After sometimes it began to drizzle. It continued drizzling for a long time. The roads became slippery.
Most of the people kept indoors. It rained for about an hour. After that it hailed for half an hour. A strong wind began to blow. The weather became very cold. People covered themselves with warm clothes. Some sat beside the fire places to warm themselves. The poor suffered most.
