My Favourite Poet

I am fond of reading poetry. I have read the books written by several poets. But my favourite poet is Tulsi Das. He was born about 1554. His parents left him forever. He led a life of poverty and hard work. He went from pillar to post.
His marriage proved turning point in his life. His wife was a religious woman. She suggested him to find a true guru. He studied and at last himself began to write the life story of Shri Ram Chandra.
Tulsi Das was a great scholar. He was not only a great poet, but also a great devotee of Shri Ram Chandra. He has painted the characters of Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Bharat very beautifully. We see an ideal person Rama, faithful wife Sita. Similarly an obedient Lakshaman and loyal Bharat is there in his work.
Tulsi Das breathed his last in 1680. His Ramayana is read in every Hindu house. I have read it thoroughly. That is why Tulsi Das is my favourite poet.
