My Favourite Leader

Lal Bahadur Shastri is my favourite leader. He was a great leader of India. Every Indian liked him.
He was born on October 2, 1904. His father was a school teacher. His father died when he was only a child. He 'was' brought up by his grand father. He studied at Banaras.
When he was young he began to take part in politics. He wanted to make India free.
He fought for her freedom. He acted as the Home Minister of Uttar Pradesh for some years. After 1974, he joined the Central Government as Railway Minister. Then he became the Home Minister. In 1964, after the death of Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru, he became the Prime Minister of India. He died in 1966.
He was a great patriot. He was a man of strong will.
During the war with Pakistan in 1965 he gave us the slogan - "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan". He was a man of simple habits. He wore Khadi clothes. He always took simple food.
