It was the 26th August. It was a fine day. We, a few friends decided to go to Okhla for a picnic. We gave Rs. 50 each. We bought fruits, sweets and other eatbles. We left for the place by bus. It took us one hour to reach there.
We had taken a stove with us. We had also rice, meat, ghee, masala and salt, vegetables, onions, lemons were also in one bag. We carried our bags from the bus to a place near the bank of the canal.
Reaching there, we spread a carpet on a grassy lawn. Some of us began to prepare meals. Some went put for a stroll. Some jumped into the Okhla canal and enjoyed swimming.
We collected at 1 p.m. and took our meals. Mangoes were also served. Then some of us lay down for a nap. Some played cards. Some talked and laughed.
In the evening we had tea and sweets. The sun was setting. We packed our things and left for home. Thus we had a jolly time.
