There was once an engine driver who was a cheerful person. He always looked on the bright side of things. He was fond of telling people that there was sure to be some good in every misfortune. Sometimes they could see it and sometimes they couldn't see it. One day, his train ran into another train. He was terribly injured. He was taken to hospital.It was found necessary to amputate one of his legs. A few days later, a party of friends visited him. One of his friends said, "I am afraid you will have some difficulty in seeing the bright side of this affair." Hearing this, the engine driver smiled. "Not at all," he said. "Now I shall have to buy and clean only one boot." Truly, cheerfulness is much better than grumbling.
