Introduction To The Story

Here is a collection of what six boys and girls think, like and plan about their future. Every young mind see things with ideas, dreams and imagination. And when any of his dream is broken, he or she feels frustrated. Life today is very complicated thing. One has miles to go before he can rest a while. Nobody has a smooth sailing in his life and career. One has to struggle a lot to reach his goal. There is a lot of tension. There is a rat race for all the good things of life., for real happiness. The statements of boys and girls are straight and frank.

Summary In English

Part - I (Many Voices)

Radha : Radha loves to climb trees. She goes up the guava tree outside her house. It is so easy for her because its branches spread out. She can sit comfortably on the two pronged branch. Her mother, however, tells her that it has not sensible for the girls to climb trees. But one afternoon the mother as well as Radha sat there eating raw fruit. Seated high up on the tree, Radha has a feeling that she can rule the world. 
Nasir : Nasir has a career plan. When he grows up he would become a seed collector. He would collect cotton seeds. It would save his father's money on buying new seeds. His grandfather used to collect seeds in his time to save on money. Nasir wants to learn the technique to preserve seeds.
Rohit : Rohit has a dream to travel a lot provided he had plenty of money. He loves nature. He wants to see mountains of NewZealand, to sail down the amazon river and to live on the beaches of Lakshadweep. He also plans to see the Sun temple in Orissa, Beijing the capital of China, and the Pyramids in Egypt.
Serbjit : Serbjit gets angry when people don't believe him. His teachers think that he is giving a false excuse for not doing homework.His parents don't believe him when he blames his brother for starting the fight. Their disbelief angers him.
Dolma : Dolma's dream is sky high. He wants to become the Prime Minister of India. People laugh at when he says that, but he has no doubt in the success of his plan. He is a popular figure at school. He wants the country to have better roads, hospitals and schools. He wants his country to have briliant scientists, inventors, doctors and astronauts.
Peter : For Peter the happiest day is the second Sunday of every month. On this day the whole family goes to see a film. He goes to the cinema hall by bus. Others who go with him are his grandmother and two brothers. Father buys a packet of peanuts to eat while watching the film. Afterwards they all stop to eat ice - cream. His family is a happy family.

Summary In Hindi

राधा - राधा को वृक्षों पर चढ़ना अच्छा लगता है। वह घर के बाहर उगे अमरुद के वृक्ष पर चढ़ जाती है। उसके लिये चढ़ना सरल है क्योंकि वृक्ष की शाखाएँ काफी फैली हुई है। वह आराम से शाखा के उस बिंदु पर बैठ जाती है जहाँ से वह विभक्त होकर दो ओर जाती है। पर उसकी माँ उसे बताती है कि लड़कियों को वृक्ष पर चढ़ना अच्छी बात नहीं। पर एक शाम माँ और बेटी दोनों ने ही वृक्ष पर चढ़कर कच्चे फल खाये। वृक्ष पर ऊँचे बैठकर राधा को महसूस होता है कि वह संसार पर शासन कर सकती है। 
नासिर - नासिर के पास अपने भविष्य की योजना है। जब वह बड़ा हो जायेगा तो वह बीज संग्रह करने वाला बन जाएगा। वह कपास के बीज एकत्रित करेगा। ऐसा करके वह उस पैसे को बचा लेगा जो उसके पिता को हर वर्ष नया बीज खरीदने पर खर्च करना पड़ता है। उसके दादाजी भी अपने समय में बीज संग्रह किया करते थे। नासिर भी बीजों को सुरक्षित रखने की विधि सीखना चाहता है। 
रोहित - रोहित का सपना है कि यदि उसके पास ढेर सारा पैसा हो जाए तो वह विश्व भ्रमण करे। उसे प्रकृति से प्रेम है। वहाँ नूज़ीलैंड के पर्वत देखना , अमेज़न नदी पर नौका विहार करना , लक्षद्वीप के तटों पर रहना चाहता है। वह कोणार्क का सूर्य मंदिर , चीन की राजधानी बीजिंग तथा मिस्त्र के पिरामिड भी देखना चाहता है। 
सर्बजीत - सर्बजीत को क्रोध आ जाता है जब लोग उसकी बात पर विश्वास नहीं करते। उसके शिक्षक सोचते है कि वह होमवर्क न कर पाने के लिए झूठा बहाना बना रहा है। उसके माता पिता उसकी बात पर विश्वास नहीं करते जब वह कहता है कि लड़ाई उसके भाई ने शुरू की थी। उनका अविश्वास उसे रुष्ट कर देता है। 
डोलमा - डोलमा का सपना आकाश जितना ऊँचा है। वह तो भारत का प्रधानमंत्री बनना चाहता है। लोग उसपर हँसते है जब वह यह बात कहता है, पर उसे अपनी योजना की सफलता पर पूरा विश्वास है। वह स्कूल में भी लोकप्रिय है। वह चाहता है कि देश में अच्छी सड़के , अस्पताल तथा विद्यालय हो। वह चाहता है कि उसके देश में महान वैज्ञानिक , अविष्कारक , डॉक्टर तथा यात्री हो। 
पीटर - पीटर के लिए सबसे अधिक हर्ष का दिन होता है माह का दूसरा रविवार। उस दिन पूरा परिवार फिल्म देखने जाता है। वह बस से सिनेमा हॉल जाता है। अन्य लोग जो उसके साथ जाते है वे है उसकी दादी तथा दो भाई। पिता फिल्म देखते समय खाने के लिये मूँगफली ले आते है। बाद में सभी लोग आइसक्रीम खाने के लिए ठहर जाते है। उसका परिवार सुखी परिवार है।
