1. Why did Swami Haridas say Tansen was "talented"?
Answer:
Swami Haridas noticed that Tansen had copied the tiger's call perfectly. Swami Haridas was a musician even he failed to make any difference in the mimicry of Tansen. Therefore, he said that Tansen was "talented"

2. Why did Akbar ask Tansen to join his court?
Answer:
Tansen was a great Singer. He song many times in the front of Akbar. Akbar was very much impressed from Tansen's voice. Therefore, Akbar asked Tansen to join his court.

3. How do we know that Akbar was fond of Tansen? Give two reasons.

Akbar was fond to Tansen because of the following reason:-

(i) If Raga Deepak is properly sung, its makes the air so hot that the singer is burnt to ashes.
(ii) Enemies of Tansen know very well that he can song properly. If he sings Raga Deepak, he will die, and we will get rid of him.

6. Why did Tansen agree to sing Raga Deepak?
Answer:
Tansen did not want to disobey the king. So he agreed to sing Raga Deepak.

7. (i) What steps did he take to save himself?
   (ii) Did his plan work? How?
Answer:
(i) Tansen taught his daughter and her friend the 'Raga Megh'. He told them, "You must wait till the camps start burning, and you start singing. By this way, he took to save himself.
(ii) Yes. His plan worked. He started singing. The air became hot. Everything became dry, water started to boil and flames lighted the lamps. At once, the two girls began to sing Raga Megh. The rain came down and Tansen was saved.

Answer:
Yes, I am keenly interested in music. I have a great liking for classical music. Arnzad Ali Khan, R.D. Burman, A.R. Rehman and Nadim Shravan are a few distinguished Indian musicians.
