Answer:
The last sentence of the story ("He was in hurry to tell his wife a thing or two") suggest that friendship is two sides affair. One who takes foolish decisions has to repent forever. Crocodile's wife would not get neither monkey's heart nor sweet juicy fruits because friendship was over between crocodile and monkey.
