The 15th August is our Independence Day. On 15th August 1947 India became free. This day is a public holiday. In Delhi, this day is celebrated in different ways. Lakhs of people gather in the grounds in front of Red Fort.
The Prime Minister arrives there at 7.15 a.m. First of all he inspects a guard of honour. Boyscouts and girl-guides from a great rally. They sing the National song. Then the Prime minister makes a speech. This is followed by the National Anthem.
At night the public buildings are brightly lit. People enjoy the sight.
