Shri Jayaprakash Narayan was a National leader. He did not belong to any political party. But the Indian people love and respect him as their national hero. He was born on October 11, 1902 in Bihar. He had his early education at Patna. He went to America for higher study. When he came back to India, he joined Satyagrah Movement of Mahatma Gandhi. He was sent to jail in 1941, he took part in the Quit India Movement. He was sent to jail again.
After independence, he retired from politics and joined the Bhoodan Movement. But misrule of the congress Party forced him to come back to politics. He was able to unite the leaders of different parties. He inspired them to make a new party, the Janta Party and defeated the Congress Party in the elections.
India can never forget the contribution of Shri Jayaprakash Narayan. He saved India from disaster.
