Mrs. Indira Gandhi was the first woman Prime Minister of India. She was a great lady. She was as charming as her father Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru. She was a world figure.
Indira 'Priyadarshini' was born on November 19, 1917. She had her education both in India and Europe. Her political Gurus were Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. As Prime Minister, she solved many problems at home and abroad. She nationalized 14 banks. She created Bangladesh. She defeated Pakistan. She raised the image and respect of the country. She was bold and brave. She was a great patriot. She was the champion of the poor. Her Twenty point programme is a new hope for our country. She was a stauch worker. Alas ! We shed the blood of this pious soul. 31st October will go down as a Black-day in Indian History. Mrs. Gandhi is immortal in her deeds and her name will live forever.
