A Sleepless Summer Night
It was a night in the middle of June. It was terribly hot. The air was still. To make it worse, there was no electricity. After the day's hardwork, I was feeling very tired. I wanted to lie down and sleep. But sleep was simply impossible in such sultry weather. I lay down on my bed three or four times. I tried to fan myself with a piece of cupboard. But it gave me no relief. And then there were those big mosquitoes. They bit me all over my face, hands and feet. I would jump out of my bed and move restlessly. It continued all through the night. I could hardly have a wink of sleep.
