Summary
Sleep is a state of rest. Our daily activities cause fatigue. A good sleep enables our body to recover from fatigue. It makes us alert and active. We become fresh again after a sound sleep. We do not remember what happened to us during the sleep. Sometimes, we remember our dreams.
Several things happen to our bodies during sleep. Our muscles relax, our heart beat becomes slower and our temperature and blood pressure go down then. The thinking of the brain also slows down. These things become normal when we wake up. Sometimes we dream. However, we forget most of our dreams.
A dream is a mental activity which takes place during one's sleep. Only certain dreams are probable. A dream is beneficial in several ways. We think ourselves awake during a dream. The dreams reveal a great deal about one's personal problems. However, they can never tell the future.
Sleep has wonderful powers. Many poets describe sleep in a beautiful manner. They prefer sleep to all other activities.
