Answer:
The desert animals find different ways to get and store water.

(ii) How do mongoose kill snakes? (6)
Answer:
Mongoose like to hunt together. They are famous for killing snakes without getting hurt themselves. They can move very fast. They get aside each time the snake tries to bite them. They trouble the snake until it gets tired. They quickly attack and kill it.

(iii) How does the hump of the camels help them to survive when there is no water? (9)
Answer:
Some camels have only a single hump, others have two. Single hump camel is used for riding. The hump, people wrongly believe, stores water. It is full of fat. The fat serves as food for the animal. The hump becomes smaller as the fat is used up. Camels can survive without water for upto ten months without drinking any water. They get all the water they need from tree leaves and plants.
